Scope of service
What Docs2books does, and what it does not.
Last updated October 29, 2026.
What it does
- Stores the documents you add, reads them, and files them by type, year and person.
- Picks out dates, amounts and names, and lets you search every word.
- Builds a tax-year packet and checklist, accountant links, a simple money ledger and date reminders from what you file.
What it does not do
- No advice. It is not a tax preparer, accountant, bookkeeper or law firm, and does not give tax, legal or financial advice.
- No guarantee a field is right. Reading can be wrong, especially on photos and handwriting. Check each field before you rely on it.
- No complete list of what you owe the IRS. The checklist shows forms you had last year. A form that is new this year will not be on it.
- Not your accounting system. The ledger totals what you filed. It is not a full set of books and does not file anything with any agency.
- Reminders are a help, not a promise. Dates come from the documents. Keep your own calendar for anything that cannot be missed.
- Not a stand-in for originals. Keep the paper originals of IDs, titles, deeds and anything with a raised seal.
